KunstRAI / Art Amsterdam is proud to be the location for the presentation of the Sluijters Prize for young talent in the art for the second time. The prize is given once every two years by Stichting Kunst aan de Dijk Kortenhoef (Foundation). All Dutch artacademies apply their best students. Jochem Mestriner has won the Sluijters Prize for young talent in painting. The prize consists of a cash prize of €5,000 and a solo exhibition during the KunstRAI in Amsterdam in April 2022.
The Sluijters Prize for young talent in painting will be awarded for the fifth time this year. The prize is awarded once every two years by the Kunst aan de Dijk Foundation in Kortenhoef.
The Foundation has invited the Dutch art academies to make nominations by recently graduated bachelor and master students and has received 13 nominations. The jury consisted of visual artists Johan van Oord and Niek Hendrix and art historians Pia van Wijnbergen and Cato Cramer.
Jochem Mestriner graduated from the art academy of the HKU in Utrecht in 2021. In that year he also won a stipend from the Dooyewaard Foundation, which gives him the opportunity to work and live in an artist studio in Blaricum for a year.
